GOAI Global Open-source AI Challenge Official Website Goes Live, Global Registration Portal Officially Opens

On July 16, 2026, the official website of the GOAI Global Open-source AI Challenge, goaihz.com, launched, with its registration portal open to participants worldwide.

The GOAI Global Open-source AI Challenge, hereinafter referred to as the "Challenge", is hosted by the Hangzhou Open Source Artificial Intelligence Foundation, with the Agentic AI Foundation (AAIF) and the LF AI & Data Foundation serving as Global Open-source Partners. The Challenge is undertaken by Zhejiang Lab, Alibaba Cloud Intelligence Group, Ant Group Co., Ltd., Hangzhou AILume Future Technology Co., Ltd., Yunshenchu Technology Co., Ltd., Manycore Tech Inc., and other leading organizations.

Open to global developers, open-source contributors, academic research teams, corporate AI teams, research institutions, startup teams, and AI Builders, the Challenge focuses on frontier AI project discovery, engineering validation, open collaboration, and ecosystem connectivity.

Guided by the core slogan "Open. Share. Build.", the Challenge covers four core tracks: Agent Infra, Boundless Agents, AI for Research, and Embodied Future. It prioritizes projects' engineering verifiability, open collaborative value, real-world scenario value, and long-term growth potential, seeking innovative AI projects with runnable demos, reusable deliverables, and tangible deployment value.

The Challenge features a total cash prize pool of up to RMB 5 million, including a Grand Prize, first, second, and third prizes for each of the four tracks, plus multiple special awards. The Grand Prize carries a cash reward of RMB 1 million. Beyond cash incentives, outstanding teams may gain access to multidimensional support resources: computing and cloud infrastructure, expert coaching, exposure across technical communities, targeted industrial matchmaking, and direct connections to investment institutions. These resources empower promising open-source AI projects to sustain growth and achieve industrial implementation.

An offline launch ceremony is scheduled for July 21 at Hangzhou Cloud Valley Center (No. 1009 Dengcai Street, Xihu District, Hangzhou). At the event, the organizing committee will deliver a comprehensive briefing covering competition mechanisms, the four core tracks, participation workflows, entry submission requirements, and evaluation dimensions. The entry submission channel will go live simultaneously. Following the ceremony, global city roadshows will be held in Beijing, Shanghai, Shenzhen, Hangzhou, Silicon Valley, Singapore, and other locations to continuously recruit high-caliber teams for all four tracks.

Registration opens on July 16, followed by the official launch ceremony and the opening of project submissions on July 21. From late July to mid-August, the competition will proceed through project submissions and global roadshows. Preliminary judging and semifinal mentorship will take place between mid-August and late August, followed by semifinal judging from late August to early September to shortlist finalists, with detailed schedules for each track subject to updates posted on the official website. Finals Week begins on September 20, with finalists across four tracks competing in Hangzhou on September 22 through project pitches, live demos, and expert Q&A sessions. GOAI DAY will take place on September 23, featuring champion project showcases, the Grand Prize selection, and the awards ceremony to display innovative open-source AI achievements from around the globe.

Global registration for the GOAI Global Open-source AI Challenge is now open. Global developers, open-source contributors, academic research teams, corporate AI teams, research institutions, startup teams, and AI Builders are welcome to sign up via the official website goaihz.com to jointly build a new global open-source AI ecosystem rooted in openness, sharing, and collaboration.
